Your role

As an ICT Consultant at NZMIT, you will take a trusted technical lead role with the enterprise clients we serve. Working directly with clients and as an integral part of the wider delivery team, you will lead the technical aspects of the client relationship and will be called on to lead and/or contribute to, the design, deployment, and support of client infrastructures. This responsibility covers core infrastructure—including servers, storage, hypervisor, and networking components—regardless of whether these environments are on-premises, in the cloud, or hybrid.

Your strong customer focus and exceptional interpersonal skills will enable you to collaborate effectively within the wider team and build lasting client relationships and trust. In addition, you will contribute to broader business initiatives by staying ahead of the latest technology trends and bringing fresh ideas on how emerging technologies can better boost client business outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• Expert technical knowledge in one or more technologies - particularly in Hybrid Cloud technologies such as On-Prem, Azure, AWS, and Microsoft Server and Desktop platforms.
• Great communicator—able to explain solutions clearly and build strong client relationships
• At least five years' experience in the industry with specific skills in one or more of the following technologies:
  • Any or all of the technologies in the Microsoft 365 Stack
  • Microsoft Server (2012 to 2025) Desktop OS (Windows 10, 11)
  • Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Linux
  • Virtualisation technologies (Hypervisor and Virtual Desktop)
  • Modern Desktop Management (Intune, SCCM)
  • Skilled in Active Directory design, implementation, and troubleshooting (including associated components such as DNS, DFSR, Group Policy, ADFS, PKI).
  • An intermediate level of knowledge in networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• You have a full driver’s license, NZ residency, and are based in NZ
